Apple has Rejected the Google Voice Apps from the App Store

Google Voice Apps

So, surprise that Apple has rejected the official Google Voice app and removed from the App Store Google Voice several related programs, which was adopted before. Jason Kincaid at TechCrunch, echoing many other critics of a decision, accusing AT & T:

Of course, it is not difficult to guess what is the limitation of our old friend, the AT & T. Google Voice will scare carriers. This app allows users to send free SMS messages and receive cheap long distance in the lines of the Google Voice. It also becomes trivial to move to a new telephone service, because each calls Google's voice anyway.

But does anyone really think that AT & T is pulling the strings in this relationship? Google Voice not only interfere in the business model of the carrier, it interferes with Apple's iPhone business model. Not just AT & T, but Apple's iPhone partner in the carrier have to pay a large subsidy for each iPhone sold, and that the subsidy is based on assumptions about the average amount of iPhone customers pay monthly charges, voice, data and SMS.

I can see why people are surprised that Apple do not like the iPhone Google voice, but I do not see how one is surprised.

And to play devil's advocate for a moment, I am not sure the decision is totally unjustified. Do not think Apple's point of view, the ratio of its partner carriers, but I think in terms of Apple's competition with Google. Google Voice is a mobile phone service provided by the manufacturer, one of the biggest competitors of the iPhone OS. What to do if Google replaces Microsoft Voice? And if Windows Mobile was also a modern, competitive as Android? Would you be surprised if Apple's iPhone discourages owners using the service? Suffice it to say.

"iPhone can securely access corporate services and protect data on the device. It provides strong encryption for data in transmission, proven authentication methods for access to corporate services, and for iPhone 3GS, hardware encryption for all data stored on the device. iPhone also provides secure protection through the use of passcode policies that can be enforced and delivered over-the-air. And if the device falls into the wrong hands, users and IT administrators can initiate a remote wipe command to help ensure that private information is erased."

- Apple Business Flier

This YouTube video demonstrates how easy it is to bypass the passcode and encryption in the iPhone 3G [s] just in only a couple of minutes.

The seriousness of the iPhone 3G [s]' vulnerability may lead the government and enterprise agencies to think twice before they convice containing confidential information. Apple has been alerted and aware of these vulnerabilities for many years that containing all three models of iPhone, but it has not been processed.

Firmware Update for Nokia E63

Alongside with some other Eseries, E63 seems to follow the firmware update that now comes to v200.21.012. There is no changelogs info that officially released. E63 does not have User Data Preservation (UDP) so make your backup first before updating, right? So all your data and programs will not be removed by this firmware update.

There is a possibility this firmware update has not been available yet on your region code, so you need to wiat it. especially if your E63 is carrier branded, you have to wait any longer time to get this update.

Nokia Eseries phones have some firmware updates. They are Nokia E51, E66 and E71. As for the E51, this newest firmware is v400.34.011 and E71, E66 they both go to v300.21.012. Before now, E71 and E66 using v210.21.006, so this updates are sustantial to them. But no info about their changelogs for this time. For doing the updates you can go to Nokia Software Updater.

E66 and E71 dont have UDP support and you cant use OTA for updating. So, it is important for you to make your backup using Ovi Suite or Nokia PC so this update will not remove your data and program.

After installing update on E71, you will find widget links of My Space, Facebook and YouTube pre installed (in media folder). This is good idea, but I dunno where Ovi Store, Sports Tracker and Maps go? And unfortunately, there are a lot of lags when you exite the app. What do u think guys?
